I'm a retired Marine Officer teaching at Penn State University. I teach photojournalism and public relations and shoot for various publications and wire services. I enjoy underwater photography, tennis, and hope to dunk a basketball on a 10-foot rim before I die.

What a wonderful thing for this group of family and friends to do. It is especially heartwarming to see both young and not-so-young..lol..working together to help a good cause. My children are two of the ones shown in this photo and it was their first year helping raise money for Relay for Life. They learned about helping others and working together and had fun doing it. They are already making plans for next year! Everyone that participated in this event is a true hero!
An experience that will be in my heart forever. The first Survivor in the top row lost her battle to cancer on Aug 5th. Just 5 weeks after our Relay in Centre Hall. Denises' picture was in Sundays CDT the weekend of the race. It also ran in CDT Good Life - fall 2008. Each step next year from me will be in memory of our dear team member. She gave it her all.....
