Wounded Marines

Monday I returned from a visit to Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. My wife and I had dropped off our son, a Marine, at his unit, 2d Battalion, 6th Marines. His unit will be deploying back to Iraq in about 10 days. While there, we drove by the Wounded Marine Barracks, which is where Marines wounded in Iraq from II Marine Expeditionary Force are recovering. The barracks is located along the waterfront and adjacent to senior officer family housing, a very quiet area on base for these brave men and women to recover from their combat wounds. Every American should be able to see the barracks so that they don't forget that these young men and women are fighting and dying for their freedoms.
